So sad to hear of the passing of a true great. Fond memories of watching Ivan Mauger as a regular fan at Exeter Falcons Speedway, also wheh he rode against Leicester Lions, my home town. My wife Anita and I whilst living in Devon and following Ivan, fondly remember a meet and greet evening at Dawlish Warren where he made everyone present feel part of his family, such a gentleman. Now living on the Gold Coast and wishing to pay my respects on April 27th. The world has lost a champion on and off the bike, condolences to the Mauger family, RIP Ivan.

A great rider, both individually and for his teams, and a great leader. Raised the bar in terms of professionalism and approach. Those of us who were there at the time were lucky to see him and even luckier to have him ride for us. A sad loss to the sport and even more so to Raye and family

Wembley 1972. Ole Olsen was defending his title. This was my first World Final. Ole was by far the fastest rider on the track, but Ivan showed his true professionalism and went on the regain his title. From my generation Ivan WAS speedway. Rest in Peace Ivan.

I started watching speedway in 1974 when I was six years old. Ivan was at his peak and when the fixture list came out each season the first thing I looked for was when Ivan was coming to Sheffield. He was almost unbeatable and seemed so much more professional than anyone else. I had the pleasure of meeting him when he kindly signed his autobiography for me and he will be sadly missed by everyone. Best wishes to all his family and friends at this sad time.
