RIP Ivan, the greatest speedway rider ever without doubt. As a young lad watching Wembley Lions and all of the big meetings at Wembley he was the main man. Thank You for all of the entertainment that you gave at the home of speedway.

Ivan was the first ever speedway rider I knew and his help in setting up speedway in Barrow gave him another fan in the early 70's. such a genuine man and always had time for everybody. Legend is a word often over used but Ivan is and will always be a legend both in the world of speedway and the wide world of sport. My condolences to Raye and all of the family. Ivan was one of those riders who you couldn't wait to see race, such was his aura, you knew when he came to my home track, Sandy Lane in Oxford, that whoever he raced for your home boys were up against it. Quality racer who simply was a man at the top of his sport for such a long time. RIP Ivan, a legend passes over

Had the privilege of watching Ivan ride at Hyde Road. What a rider!!! He did so much for speedway. It's such a shame it's gone the way it has. RIP Ivan. You certainly were a legend of the sport. Condolences to the Mauger family.

I was there at Belle Vue for the start of Ivan’s career right till the end, a fantastic all round Speedway rider, but once he was out of that starting gate not many people beat him. Never forget the black & white chequered helmet one of a kind. Last time I met Ivan was at his book signing at Belle Vue, a lovely fella with plenty of time to have a chat. He will be up there now with the other Belle Vue greats. My sincere condolences go out to his Family. REST IN PEACE IVAN, a true Legend of the dirt track .

I saw my first World final at Wembley at the age of 13 and although Fundin won it Ivan finished 3rd and caught my eye. I saw him at Places like West Ham and my home track Wimbledon To me he was something special and I just loved him he was part of my growing up I took my Mum to Wimbledon when Gt Britain raced Sweden as she had her own heroes from the the late 40s and 50s. You need to see this man mum he is awesome. And so it proved Ivan had 6 rides and won them all I feel very sad today and my thoughts are with his family RIP Champ You were the best, no argument
